Massage
Good for relaxation, stress release, circulation and muscle tone
What is it?
Massage is the working of superficial and deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue using various techniques, to enhance function, aid in the healing process, and promote relaxation and well-being.
How it works
Massage involves working and acting on the body with pressure – structured, unstructured, stationary, or moving – tension, motion, or vibration, usually manually but can be applied with mechanical aids.
The client is treated lying on a massage table with towels being used appropriately, covering those parts of the body not being worked on. Oil is the most common lubricant used but if clients are sensitive to oil then talcum powder or cream can be used.
